Stinkin’ video game

Posted on May 29th, 2008 in Of games and good things, Sidetrack'd

I’ve been intending to blog everyday this week, but I keep getting sucked into this crazy video game.  I actually have things I want to write about and everything.  Maybe I can evade the siren song tomorrow during naptime.  Stay tuned…

Happy Anniversary! (a day late)

Posted on May 27th, 2008 in Us

Yesterday, marked the seventh anniversary of Matt’s and my marriage.  A lot has changed since we got married at the ripe old age of 22, but we’ve come through those changes together and our marriage is only stronger for it.  We’ve had our share of ups and downs, but the good times far outweigh the bad.  We’ve stuck together and entrusted our marriage to God, and we are blessed beyond measure.

God has given me a loving, tender, God-seeking man and my life is so much better for having you in it.  You are a wonderful husband, a wonderful father, and a wonderful friend.  I can’t imagine how my life might be if our paths hadn’t crossed all those years ago.

Seven years, six moves, three cities, two kids later; and I’m more in love with you than ever.  Happy anniversary, Matt!

You know you’re a Momma when…

...at the end of the day you have spit-up on the front and back of your shirt and your bra

...in addition to all the spit-up there is new-baby poop on your shorts

...you are happy to have time to clean the bathrooms

...four hours of consecutive sleep is a great night’s sleep

...you never know where on your person you might have various unidentifiable substances

...you have more joy in watching two little people grow and develop than you ever thought possible

An apron would be a great addition to my wardrobe

Posted on May 22nd, 2008 in Contests, Housework

I’m known around here for being a messy Momma.  I have a tendency to splatter food on myself when cooking, get flour everywhere while baking, and bleach my clothing while cleaning.  All-in-all, it is amazing I have any clothing fit for wearing out of the house; guess it’s a good thing I’m a stay-at-home-mom.

I’ve often thought about getting an apron or asking for one for birthday or Christmas, but I always seem to find a reason not to – find something else I want, decide I don’t really have the money to spend, forget.  However, each time I have a grease stain that won’t come out or a new bleach spot on my shirt I find myself wishing I had been wearing an apron.

It would be really great to have a nice, pretty apron that made housekeeping a bit more fun (or at least tolerable).  And now, I (and you, too) have a chance to win a great apron from Flirty Aprons; just visit Simple reviews (this post) to get the details.  I think I would have to choose the Blue Chocolate apron if I won.

And even if I don’t win the giveaway, I should probably look into getting an apron.  My clothing budget would thank me.

For the boy…

Posted on May 19th, 2008 in Boo, Motherhood

I’ve sacrificed coffee, mexican food, sleep.  The first two were tough because they were unexpected, but the third definitely has the most impact on life.

It’s not that he is a bad sleeper; usually he wakes up 2-3 times to eat and then goes back to bed.  There have been those few nights where I’d had coffee or mexican food or the random nights he wakes up for a few minutes and it isn’t feeding time; those are to be expected, he’s only 5 weeks old.  But then there was Saturday night when he decided that it would be a good idea to stay awake from 1:20 (eating time) until 4:00 just because he didn’t want to go back to sleep.  His daddy says he can no longer sleep between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.

I’m thinking of changing the name of the blog to “The Diaries of a Sleep Deprived Mind.”
