Little’s latest antics  RSS

Last night (Friday) I was making a grocery list and, thus, had the pantry open to see what we needed.  When it was time to go pick up our pizza, I failed to shut said pantry door and turned my back to the girl while I got money to pay for the pizza.  Matt was in the living room writing a tweet on Twitter.  When Matt came into the kitchen he found Little squatted down in front of the pantry with her hand in a bag of coffee beans.  The coffee was open, and there was evidence all over Little’s mouth of her having eaten at least one bean.  I mean, really, what 21 month old eats coffee beans without making a noise at the taste or spitting them out?  (I really wish I had a picture of her with her hand in the bag of coffee; It was just too cute.)

And then today:  Lately Little has gotten really annoyed when she has dirt (or sticky or anything) on her hands or feet.  So, this morning she was sitting in the living room floor and said she had dirt on her foot.  I told her that it was okay, just to brush it off.  She hopped up off the floor and headed down the hallway; next thing I know I hear the bathroom drawer open and close.  I called to her and asked what she was doing about the time she was coming down the hallway with my hairbrush in her hand.  She sat back down on the floor and proceeded to use the hairbrush to brush the dirt off her feet.  As Matt said, she was just doing what I told her to do.  Guess I need to think through my instructions a bit more carefully in the future.

Sometimes (okay, often) that sweet little girl really makes me laugh.

That’s so funny! She did just do what you said. At least she didn’t use your toothbrush! As for the coffee, my three daughters have liked coffee for years. She’s just starting a little early.

  2. How funny! Amazing how they take everything so literally, isn’t it?
