Quick, before I get Sidetrack'd

Challenge check-in, week 1

Thoughtfully penned on July 23rd, 2008 and generally concerning Goals

Last week I mentioned that my friend, L, and I were embarking on a 15 week better health and weight loss challenge.  Today marks the end of the first week, so here is a quick check-in.

Goals:
Eat 3 balanced meals and 2 snacks
No eating after 7:00 pm
Exercise 5 days per week
Only 1 sugary drink per day
Lose 10 pounds
Lose 4 inches off areas where I carry my weight (waist, abdomen, hips)

This weekend was a bit rough because I felt so bad, but overall I had a good pretty good week.  I owe $3 to the penalty jar for breaking my “rules”; I had more than one sugary drink on three days.  However, my weigh-in and measurement check today was encouraging.  I’ve lost two pounds and an inch off my measurements!  That’s enough to keep me motivated for a few more days.

  1. Way to go! It never comes off as easy as it goes on, but keep with it and don’t be too hard on yourself when you slip a little. Just remind yourself that tomorrow will be a better day!

  4. Congrats! Well done. You are moving forward, and that’s what counts. I’ve slacked off of my excercise routine this week, and I’m definitely paying for it. Not in $, but in how I feel. Crummy.

  5. This is inspiring! As I listen to my body more & more in this pregnancy, making choices like this for ourselves just makes so much sense! But it is NOT easy!

  7. Whoo Hoo! Way to go! You’ve made me motivated to do our own contest. Who ever loses more weight…me or Hubbie….gets to pick where he and I go on our alone trip…once Peanut is weened! :)
