He works in lawn care so he is off from the end of December through the beginning of March. On his last day of work, we go the beach where they have a fabulous lights display, viewed by train! And the kids are free so it is a great, cheap celebration. :-) Usually afterwards we ride around a few neighborhoods and see lights from our car. My husband finished work for the season in December. LOL..it's just one that i keep on the computer...we've written a letter to santa, decorated a wreath using a paper plate, stickers, bows and markers and today we'll try to make applesauce cinnamon ornaments. my goal this year is to try to get her to realize Christmas is about more than herself and it's our duty to help others who are less fortunate..i also want her to believe in the 'magic' of Christmas and santa, because that is a big part of the fun, but i also want her to understand it's not WHY we celebrate Christmas....we celebrate it to celebrate Baby Jesus' birth. jana, great idea! we are doing a little advent calendar too but nothing like that!
